Rabbi Doniel Schon

Rabbi Schon, a native of Queens, NY, is a distinguished scholar and community leader with a rich educational background and a deep commitment to engaging Jews of diverse backgrounds. His journey in Torah study led him through prestigious institutions, including the Yeshiva Gedolah of Greater Washington, the Mir Yeshiva in Jerusalem, and Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, NJ. He attained Yoreh Yoreh ordination from the Yeshiva Gedolah of Greater Washington.


He subsequently joined the Cincinnati Community Kollel, where, in addition to a full schedule of learning and teaching, Rabbi Schon demonstrated his passion for fostering engagement within the community, creating innovative programs that resonated with Jews of all ages and backgrounds.


In 2018, Rabbi Schon entered the role of S'gan Rosh Kollel at the Kollel Jewish Learning Center in Pittsburgh. Here, he skillfully coordinated the Kollel's community learning initiatives, showcasing his ability to navigate the intricacies of communal education. Additionally, Rabbi Schon played an important role in managing the financial stability of the Kollel.


Rabbi Schon possesses a unique and interdisciplinary focus in his scholarship, with a keen interest in the intersection of technology, medicine, and science with Jewish law. His lectures and studies have often illuminated the complex interplay between tradition and modernity in this cutting-edge realm.


Complementing Rabbi Schon's journey is his wife, Dina Schon (nee Blumberg), a native of Monsey, NY, and a Touro College graduate with a degree in accounting. They have been blessed with six children—Yehuda, Esti, Yaakov, Kayla, Zahava, and Ahuva.
